Description: Phantom Keystroker V2

  • An annoying little troublemaker looking like an innocent USB stick that can take control of your enemy's mice and keyboards. Features adjustable time intervals for your sabotage attacks!

Get ready for this newest piece of kit to assist in your office wars – the Phantom Keystroker! This gadget is about the size of a normal USB stick, but instead of storing data it acts as a troublemaker that's bound to drive your victims crazy :).

A knob at the side of the device allows you to decide the precise moment of the first sabotage and how long between the next attacks (shortest 5 seconds, longest15 minutes). Take our advice, 5 seconds does rather implicate you in the sabotage! So setting for 10 or 15 minutes will help in you not being immediately suspected!

So, what's on the sabotage menu?

3 switches let you to choose how your victims will suffer:

  • Mouse causes those oh-so annoying tremors in the cursor.

  • Caps Lock will activate the CapsLock function automatically so that uppercase and lowercase letters get mixed up.

  • Keyboard causes the computer to 'gain sentience' and begin writing independently. The cool thing about this is the computer won't just produce meaningless columns of symbols or text, but things like 1337, pi (including a number of decimal places) or even a bizarre monologue about how lonely the poor computer feels!
Note: The Phantom Keystroker is designed for an English keyboard layout, so on a German layout (with its interchanged 'z' and 'y') some sentences will make less sense!

To activate the Phantom Keystroker on the selected computer, for Windows simply plug into a USB slot, wait until the well-known "installing device driver software" to appear and Windows will identify the device automatically. On a Mac, a dialog box will open –which you just then simply close. For Linux, according to the manual, there may be some problems with Linux OS configurations, but we found we had no problems when we tried.

Of course, if your victim restarts his/her computer, then you'll need to reinstall the Phantom Keystroker (though some wireless mice are still affected even after they do a restart – hee-hee!)

The Phantom Keystroker – absolutely the best way to annoy colleagues, to... er... 'delight' your friends or to shock your not-so-computer-literate parents!*

*Of course, this delightful little device probably isn't best used on computers being used to perform sensitive work... and certainly not for bosses with a limited sense of humour!
