Description: Seafarer's Telescope Wood Construction Kit

  • Kit for a functional telescope with a sturdy stand and a real sight distance of 150 m
  • Assembled from pre-cut wooden parts
  • Telescope and stand can easily be taken apart and the telescope pushed together so you can take it with you wherever you go
  • The kit is also suitable for beginners

The invention of the telescope was quite the groundbreaker in human history. Actually invented by the Dutch optician Hans Lipperhey in 1608, it was later called the Galilean telescope, after the famous scientist Galileo Galilei, who developed it further. It changed seafaring, warfare and astronomy permanently and is still an irreplaceable tool today.

With this Seafarer’s Telescope Wood Construction Kit you can retrace this development with a little skill and assemble your own telescope. In addition to pre-cut wooden parts, tools and instructions are included. The assembly works without any glue as the whole model is held together by wooden joints.

But that is not the only special feature of this kit. In addition, the telescope is not only decorative after assembly but fully functional with a range of sight of 150 m. As it can be very easily separated from its base and pushed together, it fits well in a backpack or bag and can be taken on outings to observe nature. Whereby the Jolly Roger on the lens cover suggests rather less peaceful uses...

Fine details, such as the leather sheathing for better handling, the hot-stamped decor and the classical metal nameplate attached to it, make the telescope look even more aesthetic and almost a real antique.
